Big Sized Oil at an Affordable Price

Editor’s note: This post has been updated with a new massage oil recipe made with Home Health Castor Oil. Check The Packaging section of this review.

Hi every one! It’s me Michelle. Today I’m going to review the Home Health Castor Oil. A close friend of mine recommended this oil and she really loved it. Let’s see what we got.

The Packaging

When the product was delivered, it came with a box that’s as big as Marc’s toolbox. I opened the lid to find the oil lying over a couple of small, clear plastic filled with air. These were supposed to cushion the product to keep it from breaking. The plastic did a good job because it did not spill at all. The product came with a foil seal and a screw top cap. As the product did not come with a dropper or anything, punching a hole in the middle of the seal is the best thing I can do so that I can control how much oil I pour out.

The bottle is made of clear plastic and is quite large. I ordered the 32 oz. bottle because I wanted to create some homemade massage oils by mixing it with some other fragrant essential oils. I will give these massage oils as party favors for a small dinner party I’ll be hosting. I’ve invited our closest friends and thought that handing out my own blend of oils would be a great gift to give each of our guests.

Massage oil recipe: Castor oil has anti-inflammatory properties that make it an excellent massage oil for relieving arthritic joints, nerve inflammations, and sore muscles. Cedarwood essential oil, on the other hand, has a soothing and calming effect that reduces inflammation and muscle pain.

Ingredients:

3 tbsp. of castor oil

2 drops of cedarwood essential oil

  1. Heat the oil on low for 1 minute.
  2. Pour oil blend on a cotton pad or piece of cloth.
  3. Gently apply the oil blend on the area desired.
  4. If you are experiencing any pain on a specific part of your body, keep that area as warm as possible for 30 mins by rubbing the area or applying pressure.

Since I had a 32 oz. bottle, I gave out quite a lot of my homemade massage oils as party favors. Every time there is a get together at our home, our closest friends always know they are in for a treat with my giveaways. Thanks to Home Health, I get to use the castor oil in so many blends for my friends!

How Home Health Castor Oil Looks and Feels

The oil is cold pressed oil, which I think is really great.

The Home Health Castor Oil is pale yellow and does not have any smell. It’s thick like the consistency of honey. I tried it on my skin and it absorbed easily. The oil is cold pressed oil, which I think is really great. I know that when you cold press castor beans they give off more high-quality oil. The Home Health Castor Oil does not contain parabens and other chemicals that can harm the body.

This castor oil did not come with any accessories or attachments. If you want to use the oil on your eyelashes, you can buy empty mascara bottles online or just some disposable mascara wands. You can fill these mascara bottles with some of the castor oil so you can take these along with you without needing to bring the entire 32 oz. bottle while you travel. You can apply the oil on your eyelashes to help them grow longer or to your eyebrows to make them grow thicker.

When you have this much castor oil available, you can do so many things with it. To preserve the oil make sure to store it properly. Keep the oil away from direct sunlight. Store it in a cool and dry place. Make sure to keep the cap tightly closed. This will preserve your oil and make it last a long time. This oil has a good shelf life of over 2 years. If you follow these storage instructions, your oil can last a long time.

If you feel like you won’t be able to use up this much castor oil, Home Health also sells the oil in 8 oz. and 16 oz. bottles. Personally, I went for the big bottle because I feel like it will save me a lot. I know I can use up this entire bottle for so many different things.

More From Home Health

Home Health produces so many different oils and beauty products other than Castor Oil. They also sell Wool Flannel together with the castor oil to create castor oil pack. To use this you will need to soak the flannel cloth in castor oil and apply heat from a heating pad. Place the pad on your abdomen and other areas to get relief from cramps. Some use this method to detoxify the body. I’ve heard somewhere that this method is used for detoxifying the liver. I personally haven’t tried this but if it works for you let me know.

In the skin care selection, they have amazing products such as Almond Glow Skin Lotion and Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Cream. They also have skin care products that target specific skin issues such as the Psoriasis Medicated Scalp and Body Wash, Psoriasis Cream, and Antifungal Lotion.  You’ll also find some Everclean Antidandruff shampoo in their hair care line.
