Cammile Q
An Oil with Varying Effects From One User to Another
Hi everyone, Michelle again here. Today I’m going to give you a review about this new castor oil that I have been using and it’s called the Cammile Q Organic Castor Oil.
The Packaging
I got the product delivered to my address in a big brown box. Inside there was these small, air-filled plastic cushioning the product so that it does not break. The oil came in an amber glass bottle with a glass dropper. The glass had a tamper proof seal, which for me is great, as I know that no one else had access to my oil after production. This ensures the product has not been tampered with or altered in any way.
How Cammile Q Castor Oil Looks and Feels
I opened the bottle and was greeted by a strong citrus smell.
I opened the bottle and was greeted by a strong citrus smell. I concluded that the oil had gone bad but my friend told me she had the same experience when she used the oil. I’m having doubts about the oil at this point because none of the other castor oils I’ve used smelled even remotely like citrus. I braved using the oil anyway but I still have my reservations. I really think that castor oil should not smell like this.
The oil’s consistency was watery. It would flow easily from the glass dropper even if I wasn’t squeezing the dropper.
Unlike other castor oils that I’ve used in the past, the oil’s consistency was watery. It would flow easily from the glass dropper even if I wasn’t squeezing the dropper. It was that watery. It felt like baby oil on my skin. It also didn’t absorb very well. I feel like the oil was still in my skin 10 minutes after I expected it to be absorbed. I had to wash my hands with soap and water to make it less slippery.
I recently thinned out my eyebrows by over plucking it and I want it to look thick again. I used the oil on my eyebrows to help it grow thicker. On my first application, I learned my lesson and just used a small drop of oil on my brows. I used a Q-Tip to apply the oil on my brows and to help absorb the oil. In the past weeks that I’ve been using the oil I feel like it isn’t doing anything for my eyebrows. I feel really sad about this because my friend said it worked for her but not for me. I guess we all react differently to different products. This just didn’t do it for me.
I used just one or two drops to add to my lotion and applied on my skin daily.
I didn’t want the product to waste though. So even if it did not work for my eyebrows I still used the Cammile Q Castor Oil to moisturize my skin. I used just one or two drops to add to my lotion and applied on my skin daily. The castor oil did not seem to have any obvious effects on my skin but I was glad knowing that I have added an organic product to go with my daily skin care routine.
Final Thoughts on Cammile Q Castor Oil
My takeaway from this is that not all oils are created equal. I wished that the oil worked for me the way it worked for my friend. I also wish the price point of this oil were a bit less. Its price is over $14 without shipping and handling. I’m calling on the people behind Cammile Q to review the smell or the composition of the product. Castor should not smell like citrus. I’m hoping this is the reason why it did not work for me. Like maybe, this is an expired batch. But, then that would mean I had been applying expired product (GASP!)on my brows and body. I seriously hope that’s not the case.
